The Pan Erikoussa Society had Its annual Easter
dance yesterday at Zoodohos Pege in the Bronx.
As a member of the board of directors I will like to
thank all the people that contributed the food, wine,
and soft drinks, I’m not going to mention them by name
just in case I forget some body.
I also like to thank the people that attended this event
to support our Society
Now that I got that of the way I’m going to write like the
Publisher of rouxiotis.com.
Unfortunately do to some sad events allot of the
people that constantly support our Society could not
attend and my heart goes out to them. However a
large portion of the Erikousiotes that could have come
didn’t.
I’m ashamed and disappointed to write this but for the
first time in the history of our Society, the non
Erikousiotes outnumbered us by 2 to 1. We all have
priorities but supporting our Society should be one of
them.
The Panerikoussa Society was founded to be a
collective voice of all Eriekousiotes that came to this
great country, and to be indifferent to its needs is a
sacrilege to the founders, especially to those that are
no longer with us. We all can’t agree with the society’s
politics, but an Easter dance is not a political rally, it is
a collective gathering of the Erikoussa family, and a
chance for all of us, that are busy with our everyday
lives to see one another. For the past couple of years
I have seen these gatherings dwindle to a few selfless
people that come to our events over and over again. I
know that times may be hard for some of us, but what
price do we put on the future of our Society? What do
we tell our children’s children if this organization is no
longer here? That once upon a time your Grandfather
was a member of the Panerikoussa Society?! What
do we tell them if they ask why that society is no longer
in existence?
I leave these questions for you to answer.
You all may say that it’s the board’s fault that the
events are no longer popular with its members,
and to that I might agree, we all have to share in this
disappointment, but it is your responsibility as
members to tell the board what is doing wrong.
I’m not going to write you how the party went, because
the people that were there know.
You can all reply to the above I’m not afraid of
criticism; criticism makes me a better person

O σύλλογος Eρεικουσίων Αμερικής είχε τον ετήσιο
χορό του Πάσχα χθες στην Ζωοδόχας πυγή στο
Bronx. Σαν μέλος του διοικητικού συμβουλίου θέλω να
ευχαριστήσω όλους τους ανθρώπους που συνέβαλαν
τα τρόφιμα, κρασί, και τα μη αλκοολούχα ποτά, εγώ δεν
πρόκειται να τους αναφέρω ονομαστικός σε
περίπτωση που ξεχάσω κάποιον.
Επιθυμώ επίσης να ευχαριστήσω τους ανθρώπους
που παρευρέθηκαν σε αυτό το γεγονός για να
υποστηρίξουν τον σύλλογο.
Τώρα που έβγαλα αυτό από την μέση θα σας γράψω
σαν τον εκδότη του rouxiotis.com.
Δυστυχώς μερικά λυπημένα γεγονότα έκαναν πολλούς
από τους ανθρώπους, που υποστηρίζουν συνεχώς
τον σύλλογο, να μην έρθουν , και η σκέψη μου είναι
μαζί τους. Εντούτοις μια μεγάλη μερίδα από
Ερεικουσιώτες που θα μπορούσαν να έχουν έρθει
δεν ήρθαν. Είμαι ντροπιασμένος και απογοητευμένος
να γράψω αυτό αλλά για πρώτη φορά στην ιστορία του
συλλόγου μας, το μη Ερικουσιώτες μας ξεπέρασαν
αριθμητικώς 2 προς 1. Όλοι έχουμε προτεραιότητες,
αλλά η υποστήριξη του συλλόγου μας πρέπει να είναι
μια από τις προτεραιότητες. Ο σύλλογος ιδρύθηκε για
να είναι μια συλλογική φωνή όλων των Ερεικουσιωτόν
που ήρθαν σε αυτήν την μεγάλη χώρα, και να είμαστε
αδιάφορη στις ανάγκες του είναι ιερόσυλος στους
ιδρυτές, ειδικά σε εκείνους που δεν είναι πλέον με
μας. Μπορεί να μη συμφωνούμε όλοι με την πολιτική
γραμμή του συλλόγου , αλλά ένας Πασχαλινός χορός
δεν είναι μια πολιτική συνάθροιση, είναι μια συλλογική
συλλογή της Ερεικούσιωτικης οικογένειας , και μια
πιθανότητα για όλους μας, οι οποίοι είμαστε
πολυάσχολοι με τις καθημερινές
ζωές ,να δουν το ένα άλλο. Τα τελευταία χρόνια έχω
δει της τελετές να ελαττώνονται σε μερικούς
ανιδιοτελείς ανθρώπους που έρχονται
επανειλημμένως. Ξέρω ότι οι χρόνοι μπορούν να
είναι σκληροί για μερικούς από μας, αλλά ποια τιμή
βάζουμε στο μέλλον του συλλόγου μας; Τι λέμε στα
παιδιά των παιδιών μας εάν αυτή η οργάνωση δεν είναι
πλέον εδώ; Ότι μια φορά κι έναν καιρό ο παππούς σας
ήταν μέλος του Παν Ερείκουσσα;! Τι τους λέμε εάν
ρωτούν γιατί εκείνos ο σύλλογος δεν είναι πλέον;
Αφήνω αυτές τις ερωτήσεις σε σας να απαντήσετε .
Mπορείτε να πείτε ότι είναι σφάλμα του συμβουλίου
που η εκδηλώσεις δεν είναι πλέον δημοφιλές με τα
μέλη, και με αυτή την άποψη μπορεί να συμφωνώ ,
όλοι πρέπει να μοιραστούμε αυτήν την απογοήτευση,
αλλά είναι η ευθύνη σας ως μέλη να πείτε στο
συμβούλιο τη κάνει λανθασμένo .
Δεν πρόκειται να σας γράψω πώς πήγε η εκδήλωση ,
επειδή οι άνθρωποι που ήταν εκεί ξέρουν.
Μπορείτε να απαντήσετε στα ανωτέρω, εγώ δεν
φοβάμαι την κριτική, η κριτική με κάνει καλύτερο
άνθρωπο.

If you go to the market looking for steak and you find ground beef
because it was cheaper, when you get home you will not have
steak.
The D.Js we hired were 15 year old kids and they did the best they
could since it was their first Greek Dance.
Our thought for hiring them was to support the kids from Ereikousa.
But we also knew that we didn't hire
D.J Tiesto.
