The Macedonia issue/question.

I’m not historian but I like history, and history can be a little twisted according who is writing it.
With that in mind I’m trying to make sense of it all, I’ve visited a lot of web sites the last couple of weeks
From both sides of the border and mostly what comes from our neighbors to the north, makes little sense to
me. If the people that live in the Skopje reagent are truly the decedents of Alexander the Great
they deserve to call their new country Macedonia or any combination or derivative, if not, use the name of
their past. Simple as that. Now that put that issue to rest read on.
The northern Mexican states of  Chihuahua, Coahuila and Nuevo Leon are in the midst of a brutal civil war
that is been raging the last couple of years, their  goal is to secede  from the Mexican Federation, thousand
have left their homes for the safety of the southern states of Mexico. The United States of America fearing that
the war will spill to rest of the Mexican states sends troops from the newly establish F.O.T.A (Force of the
Americas) to act as peacemakers. After a couple of years of bloodshed on both sides The President of the
U.S. Decided enough is enough and orders F.O.T.A. to bomb Mexico City.
After a couple of months of relentless bombing the Mexican government decides to grand this northern states
their independence. Chihuahua and Coahuila became one large state and took the name of
Zapata. The
smaller state of Nuevo Leon with most of its border next to Texas, (and as we all know Texas was a big state
that was divided between Mexico and the United States after the Texan Mexican war of the 1830, remember
the Alamo?) So the newly formed government of this small state creates a new constitution a new flag and a
new name. Their
new flag consists of red white and blue with a lone star and because a piece of its territory
was part of the old Texas, takes the name of the
Republic of Texas.
In one of the articles of this new constitution is a passage that says “The goal of the Republic of Texas is to
unite all Texas and Texans” they print maps of the new state that includes the State of Texas to the north,
print new
currency with the Alamo in the front and put out propaganda that the U.S. is mistreating the people
of Texas. The U.S. objects to everything that is coming out of this small state, the Texans to the north are
beside them self’s, and organize one of the biggest demonstrations that the U.S. has seen, so the U.S. closes
it borders and implements an embargo of goods to and from this State. Greece is one of the European
countries that recognizes this newly formed state by their new name the Republic of Texas and puts pressure
on the U.S. to make this state part of F.O.T.A and sends their U.N. envoy to moderate the problem. After
years of negotiations nothing ever comes out of the talks, this tiny nation is relentless to compromise, all
though it changed its flag and the article of their constitution that laid claim to the state of Texas.  But is not
willing to negotiate the name issue.

A little far fetched?  Or is it? Will America ever let something like the above fiction take place?

This is exactly what happened and still is happening in the
Balkans.
Should the Greek government of the people roll over and play dead? Should the people of the Provence of
Macedonia shut up while their history and heritage is distorted? I don't blame the people of Skopje, for
the past 60 years have been taught in their schools by their leaders that they are the who they claim to be,
but now in the information age they should be honest and tell their children what the historians have written
through out the Milena. Propaganda is a very powerful tool thats why people in power use it, either to control
or enrage the populous and to disregard or hide the truth, and soon the propaganda becomes the truth if we
roll over and pay dead.
Let all your governments’ representatives understand our issues.
Is not only a Name so get a life kind of issue.
Is a matter of history and we can’t change 4000 years of it to please a superpower or a tiny insignificant
country. Back in the 80s some Afro centrist professors in the State University claimed that the Egyptians were
all black like the rest of Africa. But the Egyptians and the rest of the African tribes objected and that was it, I
have not heard another word abutted. The whole Mediterranean region had the means to travel and
intermingle with other people to learn and teach new things. Unlike the rest of Northern Europe and southern
Africa that had the tribal system.
To change or distort history is dangerous.

It is my opinion that anybody that claims to be the direct descendant of Alexander the Great, Leonidas,
Hercules, Zeus, or any other ancient person or god, is out of his or her mind, unless they have genetic proof
like D.N.A. All we have is the history and like I mention in the beginning of this story it can be a little twisted.
The Greek people understand this and we are not going to stay silent and let our neighbors to the north make
all this outrageous claims. Greece has never laid claim to a territory of another country it has only liberated its
people, and not all I may add, that trough out the Milena have keeped their Greek identity. To be a Slav and
try to pas your self as a Macedon is not only fake but a disrespect to your past.

What are your thoughts on this issue?
