On sunday March 7th The Federation of Hellenic Societies of Greater New York
held the annual celibration of the Greek Languige at the Stathakion Center in
Astoria New York. The festiviteis included a asye contest named "the Greek Letters."
Students from all the Greek day and evening shcools took part, there where four
awords for the top studens from College, High School, Jr. High and ellementary.

From A Fantis in Brooklyn. These students received a $1,000 U.S. Savings bond.
There wore secondary prizes ranging from $500 to $100 Savings for second to
fifth place.
Anna Katehis from Erikoussa attends Saint Demetrios in Astoria
and took third place.
The festivities that also included speakers from various Universities, Colleges and
from the Greek Consulate, wore sponsored by the U.S Census Bureau and T.D.
Bank and organized by the Cultural Committee of the Federation.
Congratulations to all the students that took part in this special and well needed
event.
