Yesterday after noon the G.A.I ladies basketball team
had their championship game at the G.A.I basketball
court. The Blazers as the team is called were terrific
opening a 14 to 2 lead by the end of the 1st quarter.
The defense was very good in the first half, by then
the game was almost put way, the coaches Spiros
Argyros and Christine Mazarakes had the ladies very
well prepared for the game and they executed the
fast break to perfection with Emily Mazarakes in the
lead, she scored time and time again with lay-ups.
The whole team plaid great capitalizing on the
mistakes that D.G.K from Brooklyn made. This is the
first time since 1971 that the G.A.I. ladies basketball
team won a championship.
